Which documents does an employer need to recruit from Bangladesh?
Every overseas employer hiring from Bangladesh needs three core recruitment documents: a demand letter stating the job titles, headcount, salary and benefits; a power of attorney authorising a recruiting agency in Bangladesh to act on the employer’s behalf; and a proforma employment contract. All three must be attested by the Bangladesh embassy or consulate in your own country before the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) grants recruitment permission. Some countries require additional instruments, such as visa quota confirmation or a guarantee letter.
The demand letter and recruitment document templates below are the working formats Manpower BD uses when preparing an employer’s documents. Download the set for your country, fill it in on your letterhead, and send it back to us before attestation so we can check it first. The check looks for missing or mismatched details, which can hold up a document at attestation even when the full set is present.
These templates are working drafts to start from, not legal advice. Requirements change, and your own legal counsel should review any document before you sign or submit it.
We also recruit for Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. Country-specific recruitment document templates for these corridors are being finalised, so contact us for the current format.
How Does Recruitment Document Attestation Work?
- Prepare on your letterhead — download the template for your country and complete it in full. A blank field can hold up the whole set at attestation.
- Send it to us first — we check the draft against what the mission in your country currently accepts, before you spend time at the counter.
- Chamber of commerce or ministry step — where your country requires it, this happens before the embassy.
- Bangladesh mission attestation — the embassy or consulate in your country attests the demand letter, power of attorney and contract.
- BMET submission — we submit the attested set for recruitment permission. Sourcing begins once permission is granted.
Before you submit, we check that the job titles match the trades you actually need, that the headcount is consistent across all three documents, that salary and benefits are stated in the same terms as the contract, that company details match your trade licence exactly, and that signatures and seals sit in the positions the mission expects.
Manpower BD makes the BMET submission under the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act, 2013 (Act No. 48 of 2013), the statute that governs overseas employment from Bangladesh. We recruit under Government-Approved Recruiting Licence RL-1472. Reviewed by Manpower BD Team.
